Face masks are now mandatory in Ottawa

Good evening everyone,

An update from Ottawa Public Health states that:

Residents of eastern Ontario, including the City of Ottawa, will be required to wear non-medical masks in indoor public places to prevent the spread of COVID-19 starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, according to the medical officers of the four local public health units.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Vera Etches issued the directive Monday:

“Increasing scientific evidence supports wearing a mask when in enclosed public spaces as an important measure in reducing COVID-19 transmission, while the risk of rising rates of infection continues”
